Located just a quarter mile from trails, guests can enjoy Tackett Creek without having to trailer or road ride. With access to advanced trails and scenic novice trails, including popular locations such as Sand Cave, Slate Rock and McLean Overlook, roll straight from your cabin door and within minutes enjoy steep climbs, rocky ridges, thrilling creek crossings, and jaw-dropping overlooks—pure backcountry excitement that turns every ride into an epic adventure.

Our cabins are a great place to enjoy a break from the trails, complete with lakeside and mountain views. After enjoying the trails, retreat to our luxurious, fully-furnished cabins where modern comforts meet authentic mountain charm. Gather around the fire pit with your crew to swap stories, breathe in the fresh Tennessee air, enjoy the nature and wildlife or just recharge under the stars. Come Prepared

Before checking in at The Heart of Tackett, all guests must complete and sign our Guest Liability Waiver & Agreement. Every guest is required to sign the final page, and we need a copy of a government-issued photo ID for each person in your party. Please bring the completed form along with your photo ID copies to check-in. You will not be permitted to check in without these documents.

Save yourself a trip

Bring groceries, fuel and essentials! We have a nearby convenience store called Smokies Market which has a small deli, limited groceries and other items. For gas and other shopping such as Walmart, Five Below and more you can visit the city of LaFollette, TN – just 16 miles from The Heart of Tackett down HWY25.

We offer charcoal, firewood, ice and water on-site, and we will launch our camp store in Phase 2!

Tennessee Trail Permit Requirement

A High Impact Habitat Conservation Permit is required for off-road vehicle use (as well as horseback riding and bicycling) on designated TWRA WMAs. Current pricing is $73 for a resident annual permit, $15 for a resident daily permit, $232 for a non-resident annual permit, and $37 for a non-resident daily permit. Exemptions apply for hunters with a valid hunting license and appropriate WMA permit, and for youths under age 13. At least one occupant per UTV must carry the permit while on the trails.
